This 3.5" purple/pink splashed lustre jug was made in the 1940s in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire England. The piece was crafted by Lancaster & Sandland and decorated and sold by Gray's Pottery under the Old Castle name. The jug features a beautifully detailed transfer print horse and carriage scene, enhanced with hand-painted color details. The purple/pink splashed lustre finish, also known as mottled or splashed lustre, frames the scene.
